World Hope’s vision and heritage is to bring hope to the hopeless through reaching their physical and emotional needs to then be able to reach their spiritual ones. Christian education is a prime way for us to reach the lost and is not a new idea to World Hope or our founder Dave Janney, whose father, Dr. Al Janney, created the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. When World Hope began its work in Kenya, we depended on our solid Christian legacy to run what is now the Hope Academy which was formerly run by the Kenyan government.

In the 10 years since we first laid roots in the beloved land, the Hope Academy has grown far beyond what we imagined, to a level that only our God could have magnified and blessed. We now have over 400 students, from little 2-year-olds to high school students on the path to graduation.
These students not only receive a quality Christian education in a loving environment where they can thrive, but also a warm meal provided to them every day.

We firmly believe that we have the world’s best teachers and school staff at the Hope Academy, handpicked by God specifically for us. Our teachers are highly qualified in their education and skill and could have a higher salary if they chose to go elsewhere. Yet, these same teachers sacrifice their time to stay long after school is out and even on Saturdays to help students who are struggling in their studies or at home. Unfortunately, many of our valued teachers are still making the same salary that they did when they were hired years ago.

Our desire is to increase their salaries because they deserve the honor that’s due for their genuine commitment to World Hope and the Hope Academy. Every month we suffer a financial deficit at Hope that hinders our ability to provide raises for our teachers. In the last year we have decided to do something about this problem. Last winter, our President and Executive Vice President visited the teachers in Kenya and assured them that we are on their team and would be working to build partnerships that would support and honor their efforts from the States. It is the least we can do for our teachers who tirelessly work daily for the advancement of our incredible students in Kenya to change their world. By changing their lives, our teachers are ultimately investing in the future of Kenya by building up young men and women who will be world changers for their generation.

World Hope is currently pursuing partnerships with Christian schools across the United States to come alongside us to financially reward our teachers’ efforts. Currently, Hope Academy teachers make approximately $100 dollars a week. Your school or organization can be engaged through a sponsorship of $400 a month that would impact a classroom, a teacher, and many souls for eternity. To accomplish this monthly partnership can be as little as adding $.50 to each of your student’s annual tuition.

Please join us on this new endeavor. Pray for us, spread the word, and follow our journey for Hope Academy teachers as we continue to bring hope to the hopeless in new and different ways!
