We recently returned from our 3rd large group trip to the K-Love Hope Center in Detroit Michigan. It is exciting to see the changes taking place each time we return. This trip we had 45 travelers from Orlando, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Tampa, DC, Texas and Detroit. We also were blessed to be joined by a Youth Ministry from Warren, Ohio who brought 7 students along with 3 chaperones who were a tremendous help. Also joining us this trip were Justin & Denille Brownlee from Palm Springs Drive Baptist Church who came as ambassadors and with funds given from their church to complete nurseries in The Hope.

In the Hope Center travelers installed new signage outside at the entrances, to let the neighbors know we were more permanently there, and replace the temporary signs we hung in April. Travelers also replaced ceiling tiles and lighting fixtures in multiple rooms throughout the center. Getting us closer to day to day ministry.

Much was also accomplished in the garage, home of the new The Hope. Travelers:

  • Painted all of the walls in the auditorium
  • Hung drapery and skirting on the stage,
  • Built and installed 60 acoustic sound panels around The Hope auditorium
  • Painted 3 large panels for graffiti art in the future
  • Built the bar area, installed wainscoting and built the top pieces and stained
  • Cleaned The Hope auditorium in preparation for the launch service on September 28
  • Placed over 100 new black chairs around the auditorium

We wrapped up our trip with a huge outreach event on Saturday and the launch of The Hope on Sunday. Stay tuned for more details of the launch of The Hope and some other very neat things that have been happening at The K-Love Hope Center this fall.
