Hope Supporter:
It’s summer time here at our headquarters in Orlando, FL., and we said good-bye to the old and in with a new, fresh, and updated World Hope website that we are eager to share with you! Spend a few minutes now and take a cyber journey into the life of World Hope at www.weareworldhope.com. Once you enter the site, you’ll see images that come alive, each having a story of their own. As summer rolls in, we know that the time we spend at the gym increases to look our best, but we ask you to become “stronger” in a different way. Be reminded of our 2500 Strong Campaign that you can follow, get “stronger” with, and become a part of at www.2500Strong.org for as little as $10 a month.
Just last week our founders, Dr. David Janney, and Dr. Al Janney, arrived from an incredible trip to Russia. Being a student of history, closely following the Soviet Union and the rise and fall of Russia, for the last 70 years of his life, Dr. Al along with his son, Dr. Dave, had the opportunity last month to visit the place he has been intrigued by through the years. They visited and saw sights such as the Red Square, the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, and the scenic countryside. The greatest part for them, Dr. Dave Janney shared, was that his father, had the opportunity to do something that usually only happens once in a lifetime. He said that seeing his father’s eyes fill with tears of happiness was an amazing feeling. Please keep Dr. Al in your prayers for his health and well being to be able to continue to impart his dreams, his vision, and leadership for the up and coming generations.
In preparation for our upcoming trips to Nicaragua and Kenya this summer, Orlando Baptist Church and Palm Springs Drive Baptist Church each hosted a 5k to support World Hope. Orlando Baptist Church’s college group “Fuse”, traveling to Nicaragua soon, hosted the 2nd annual 5K for Kenya with over 100 people in attendance, and raised over $1,200 to support the ministry. Palm Springs Drive Baptist Church also hosted their first annual Slum Run to which 47 runners participated and were cheered on by dozens of spectators on May 22nd.
World Hope celebrates our 10th annual summer trip to Kenya in just a few weeks, and the upcoming ones to Nicaragua. Hope supporters will have access to follow the trips, and day to day activities, adventures, and victories on Twitter at the following link twitter.com/weareworldhope and on our website www.weareworldhope.com. Stay connected and follow our trips in Kenya June 11-22 and Nicaragua June 28-July 5 this summer!
Our wish is that every person that knows, and hears, of World Hope will have the opportunity to join us at one of our Hope Centers in the near future. December 28th-January 8th is that opportunity for you! Our Kenya Winter Relief Trip will have a medical clinic, home visits, and several other ministry opportunities. We have 25 spots available, and they are filling up quickly! Come and experience Kawangware, Africa’s second largest slum, and the beautiful land of Kenya, Africa on this trip! For more information please call us at 321.235.0029 or reply to this e-mail with any questions and to express your interest in joining.
We at World Hope are here for you, but we are also here because of you. Without your prayers, financial gifts, or having you join us as volunteers, we simply could not do this without you. Please partner with us in the days ahead in a way you have not already, as we truly need you in progressing in our journey. May the seeds of prayer, giving, compassion, hope, partnership, and more that you have planted in the ministry and world reap a bountiful harvest!
