Detroit
The largest city in the state of Michigan, Detroit has been the focus of much national attention in recent years. Facing an unemployment rate of over 8% and a serious rate of crime, the burden to house the reach of World Hope within the corners of our country has never been greater. World Hope has invested time, energy, and resources around different parts of the globe and we feel a burden to begin planning and thinking about how we can reach Americans in Detroit. We have taken vision trips to this city and met with pastors and Christian leaders who have taken the challenge to respond with a “yes” to the call to be in a city as such. Detroit may not have the appeal as “Motor City” like it once did, but there are still people to reach and a city to be rebuilt. The method may change to reach them, but the message of God’s hope remains the same. We are praying for a clear vision and accurate mission as we consider and think about World Hope’s involvement in Detroit, MI. Please pray with us for this burden and the future plans to help one of America’s great cities return to a new elevated state of greatness.
