Changing the world is something you hear about quite often. But have you ever really stopped and thought about that? How do you change the world? I mean, its hard to know where to start when thinking about cleaning your office. Let alone trying to change a world inhabited by 6,697,254,041 people. So again I ask, how do you change the world? By joining with others who are trying to do the same thing. The truth is probably that you alone can't change the world, but together we have a shot. We need you and you need us. Like a partnership, we both have responsibilities, obligations and commitments. It is our commitment to you to be a good steward with whatever resource you give us. Be it time, prayers or money. It's all much needed and appreciated. Whatever you give, we pass on with the most sincere gratitude a warm thanks from the people who live in the impoverished areas where we work to make this world a better place. To join with us, to become a partner, please follow this link and start changing the world. Thank you times a million. ^KR

Dear Faithful Partner,

We're entering the last stretch of the summer and we've taken advantage of every   day- it sure has been a busy time here in Orlando! The majority of May was spent preparing for and equipping our travelers to be sent on their trips; in June they were able to minister in Nicaragua and Kenya. In July they were able to share their experiences and testimonies and live out the lessons and principles they brought back home with them. World Hope is blessed to have willing people come alongside us on these trips; the impact they leave on our brothers and sisters in these countries is eternal.

Did you ever have the chance to experience summer camp growing up?

At World Hope we experienced two weeks of intense summer camps in Alabama, Oklahoma, and at Camp Electric, a camp designed for musically inclined campers. Hundreds of kids came and had a blast in great old-fashioned camps and were able to be led into worship by members of the World Hope team.

Nicaragua Update

The team that left for Nicaragua in early June made over 300 beaded bracelets as a creative tool to share the message of salvation. With each bead, a color represented a part of the great message of the Gospel and salvation. One of the girls on the trip shared that it was a great experience to have stayed in a home that was in the heart of the slum and be able to wake up and open the door to see the children right outside ready for her to come outside. In fact, another young lady felt it in her heart towards the end of the trip to stay for the remainder of the summer, and still another will be headed down to join the internship program in the fall for 4 months.

Kenya Update

In another part of the world, our June trip to Kenya was also a success! With almost 30 travelers representing 3 different churches, the Encounter event was able to impact hundreds of lives in Kawangware. Through song, worship, crafts, and more Kenyans of all ages were able to celebrate, have fun, and rejoice with our team and be blessed in numerous ways. Not only was our team effective in all their roles and jobs they held, but they were also being ministered to through the love labor they did during their stay and through the new friends they made.

We Need Your Help

In addition to the joys involved on both trips, we encountered an unexpected situation that we would ask you prayerfully uphold as well as strongly consider becoming a part of. As many of you remember early this year, we reported that funds were needed to replace the toilet block for Hope Academy once the wall was torn down. Well, we would tell you that our backs are against the wall, but that wouldn't be true because there is no wall! With little notice, the Kenyan government has officially pushed down the wall that separated the school from the slum. In the meantime, World Hope has put up a temporary tin wall; however, this wall is not enough to keep the property and students safe and secure. At any given moment, someone could knock down the wall and bring unrest and thievery into our Hope Center. We are asking you to please join us again in making this great need 'a wall' that we can overcome. When you all rallied together to help fund the toilet block, we were left speechless with the incredible response and humbled to have the need met from your faithful support. Please consider to help fund this project in sponsoring 1ft of the wall for $40. The wall will measure 300ft by 8ft high, and will cost $12,000. As Scripture says, nothing is impossible for our God, and we believe that with your help we can see a new wall come up sooner than we anticipate.  If not you, who? Please make a commitment today to be part of this crucial time for World Hope and Hope Academy.

May the Lord bless your sacrificial gifts to our ministry, and may the fruits of that gift blossom in your lives as well.

Until the world hears,

World Hope team

We should count our blessings everyday. We live in a country where we can take our children in to a doctor, the neighborhood Centra Care or the hospital at a moments notice. Here, we run to the doctor if our child gets a bad case of the "sniffles." Let alone if he may have a abnormally protruding tummy like the little man in this picture. World Hope provides medical attention for the people of Kawangware slum who don't have so much as a fraction of the luxuries we have here. Your help is his help. Thank you for your continued support through Praying, Giving and Going.

Here in Kawangware, a man sits outside his shoe store hoping for a sale. The truth is that he may sell one pair of shoes today. One sale of a used pair of shoes would mean he would take in about $2.00 profit for the day. This is what most people bring in on a day's work in the slums of Kawangware. These conditions are what inspires us to help by find and create ways to help them sustain themselves. Be it through micro-businesses, letting the locals sell bracelets and trinkets to our groups, or finding ways for them to be able to help at Hope Center. This is life in Kawagware slum. When you give of something, be it time, service, or your hard-earned money, you probably wonder what that sacrifice looks like in terms of success or outcome. Well, if you're wondering that about World Hope, look at the above picture. Your sacrifice makes smiles like these a common site at Hope Center, Nairobi. For that, we thank you.
